We are proud to announce that we have successfully advised Isovolta AG on the acquisition of AEV Holding Ltd., a leading British producer of electrical insulating resins, coatings and compounds used in machinery and electronics. Their markets range from domestic appliances to industrial products in the energy and transportation industries.
AEV, Advanced Electrical Varnishes, Holding Ltd. was founded in 1982 and is a 2nd generation family-owned business. The HQ is located close to Liverpool and the company has additional production facilities in Hungary and Malaysia. AEV is one of the leading producers of insulating resins for electrical machinery and electronics. Its products are sold internationally across more than 40 hubs and partners.
AEV puts a special focus on innovation, lately very successfully in the vacuum pressure impregnation technology, building on its know-how in process design and plant equipment.
Isovolta AG has a global presence as a leading international manufacturer of electrical insulation materials, technical laminates and composites. The company has 1.500 employees across 16 production and sales offices in 11 countries on three continents, including the US. Isovolta AG is part of Constantia Industries, a conglomerate with more than EUR 758m in revenues and 3.400 employees.
Sazun advised Isovolta AG across all the steps of the transaction, including market research, the scouting of opportunities, valuation, the negotiation of the deal structure and the coordination of the due diligence, up to the final closing actions. Given the nature of the transaction, the COVID-19 pandemic-related travel restrictions turned out to be a real challenge throughout the project. Nevertheless, through persistent project management and communication, we managed to bring it to a successful closing.
