La Boutique du Coiffeur completed the acquisition of Roma Friseurbedarf GmbH

Roma Friseurbedarf GmbH La Boutique du Coiffeur

We are proud to announce that we have successfully advised Roma Friseurbedarf on a sell-side to La Boutique du Coiffeur, a french family-owned distributor of beauty products with more than 30 years of business experience. Through this partnership both companies will be able to complete next steps for future growth, based on shared entrepreneurial values and almost identical company histories.

The Partners

RoMa Friseurbedarf (Roma), Austria's leading retailer of professional hair care products, has been acquired by La Boutique du Coiffeur (LBDC), a renowned French player in the retail space, also specializing in professional hair and beauty solutions. This strategic decision allows both companies to focus on their core strengths and better serve their respective customer bases across their home markets next to realizing purchasing synergies.

Following a structured sales process, LBDC emerged as the ideal partner to elevate Roma to the next level. Ensuring stability for employees, maintaining excellence for customers, and securing an attractive outlook for new initiatives were key priorities throughout the transaction. La Boutique du Coiffeur's extensive experience, with over 30 years in the industry and a network of more than 230 stores in France, Switzerland and Luxembourg, provides a strong platform for growth.

With its deep understanding of professional hair care, beauty products and private label solutions, LBDC is well positioned to integrate Roma's network, with its close to 100 stores throughout Austria, Germany and Switzerland, into its successful operations. Together, the two companies bring exceptional expertise, strong customer relationships and a shared commitment to quality and innovation.

Our Contribution

As the exclusive M&A advisor to the sellers, Sazun orchestrated the structured sales process by inviting carefully selected industrial partners, emphasizing the commitment to finding the best partner for our client. Given their similar family histories and aligned operating models, LBDC proved to be an excellent match. Our in-depth knowledge of the industry, combined with our expertise in working with French partners, ensured seamless cross-border communication throughout the process.

& das Plus

A key advantage of our m&a PLUS® approach was the prioritization of various strategic options with an open outcome. This strategy allowed for a targeted exploration of strategic synergies and alignment with potential buyers, ensuring a comprehensive solution that addressed the long-term objectives of the owner, stakeholders, and employees. This was further enhanced by our unique pre-merger initiative tools, carefully developed over the years, and incorporated also into this assignment. Moreover, leveraging our expertise in managing international transactions, we facilitated seamless cross-border communication in French and German. Ultimately, our sell-side approach proved to be the optimal solution, delivering an efficient transition that maximizes value, strengthens market positioning, and safeguards the interests of the owners, their businesses and clients. It also fulfilled the buyer's objective of securing not only a solid investment in existing, well-performing structures but also minimizing post-merger integration risks.
